A Prior is mentioned in Only the portion of these censuses from county Derry includes any form of the McGough name. The workhouse was usually located in the market town and people came to it from the surrounding district. I recommend it for its insight into ministry in a parish setting—new or old—and its ideas for how to better engage an authentic, rooted congregational ministry. I'm told that the Gaelic pronunciation of gh as an "aspirated slender consonant" is "y". The townland is a unique feature of the Irish landscape and is one of the most ancient divisions in the country.
Tulleinane is not on the modern townland map of Muckno, but in examining the "walk" on which these taxes were collected, a logical spot for this hearth would be in the townland of Tullyharnet between the townlands of Annyart and Lurganmore, just north of the northernmost point of Muckno Lake. Half-baronies are sometimes mentioned, these are baronies with parts in two counties. There are over names on the second list which are not discoverable on the list. The counties as they are today were planned in but many existed long before this date and boundaries generally reflected areas controlled by the lordships of major Gaelic families.

Cross references within G often indicate that the same person leased two or more sites from the same landlord in the same townland and that there was a house on only one of the pieces of land. Hallam attacks him with the venom of a Whig, but Macaulay gives him his meed and place in history.
